Cover Reveal: Dig: A Personal Prehistoric Journey by Sam Chiarelli

It’s June 22, 2018, the day Jurassic World hits theaters. We thought this much-awaited dinophile moment would also be a perfect day to release the cover of our forthcoming book, Dig: A Personal Prehistoric Journey by Sam Chiarelli. Just like our last cover reveal, we’ll save the explanation for after the picture. Here it is:

dig: a prehistoric journey cover train dinosaurs

We LOVE this cover so much, from the sunset sky to the underground. This cover captures the spirit of this book so well: the multiple layers, the journey west, the digging deep, the personal nature of this trip, and, of course, dinosaurs. This is our second cover from Lindsay Smuck, and she nailed this one, too. Thank you, Lindsay.

About the book: Dig: A Personal Prehistoric Journey explores why we’re so fascinated with dinosaurs and why some people—dinophiles—never outgrow their Mesozoic obsession. This book follows Sam on a cross-country Amtrak trip with a final destination of a fossil dig. Buried within are encounters in museums big and small and interviews with many of Sam’s childhood heroes: paleontologists, artists, and others who’ve dedicated their lives to revealing the distant past. Part science and nature adventure and part memoir, this book is all dinosaur.

Dig comes out in “DiNovember”… November 6 to be exact. Presales will begin later this summer. We can’t wait for you to go on this journey with Sam.
